Full Curriculum

Module 1: Welcome to New Zealand Healthcare

  • Primary care funding, PHOs, capitation, VLCA, ACC & Southern Cross

  • Te Tiriti o Waitangi and cultural safety in daily practice

  • Patient rights, HDC Code, and support services

Module 2: MCNZ Expectations & Professional Standards

  • Good Medical Practice framework and MCNZ standards

  • Record-keeping, prescribing safety, and professionalism

  • Cultural safety, complaints process, and boundary issues

Module 3: Mastering the NZ GP Consultation

  • 15-minute consultation structure and time management

  • Managing common presentations

  • Kiwi communication style and safe AI scribe use

Module 4: Practice Management Systems (PMS) Mastery

  • Hands-on navigation of Practice Management Systems

  • Templates, billing, recalls, results & ACC claims

  • Efficient documentation and medication resources (MIMS, BPAC)

Module 5: Life as a GP in New Zealand

  • First 3–6 months expectations and work-life balance

  • WINZ certificates and employment benefits

  • Family settlement, schools, and burnout prevention

Live Webinars - A NZ-style peer group session, Not a lecture, Shared stories - practical answers

  • Webinar 1 → Cultural safety, communication & settling in

  • Webinar 2 → Real cases, PMS/workflow tips & first-month survival

How the live webinars work

The programme runs in small monthly cohorts (maximum 6 participants) to keep the sessions interactive and high-quality.

  • Enrol anytime and get immediate access to all self-paced modules and the community.

  • You will join the next available monthly cohort for the two live webinars.

  • Both webinars take place within the same month.

  • It is best to complete the self-paced modules before the live webinars so you get the most out of the discussions.
